I think blsabob is pointing out the mass comercialization of everything in this country. Publicly owned parks and stadiums selling their naming rights to the highest bidder.
Like most art and humor, the "meaning" of it is pretty much in the eye of the beholder. And to some extent, just the aesthetics of an image have to stand on their own as something intriguing, pleasing, humorous, whatever. Meaning without Aesthetics is useless to me.
But as for what it personally says to me is just a humorous reminder of the fact that we are inundated with commercialization and advertising from the day we are born. And that in someway, human beings themselves are almost like "products" or "brands" now a days.
You may disagree, and that is your right. This is mostly a spiritual/emotional issue really. So its just opinion. But mine is that our lives are cheapened by the fact that its difficult to go anywhere that we are not surrounded by the logos of multinational corporations.
One final thought. I find it absolutely repulsive and pathetic that people willingly turn themselves into walking billboards for consumer products. I have no problem with someone wearing a t-shirt displaying their favorite sports or entertainment figure or logo, because with sports and entertainment, you are also part of a culture surrounding that entity. But to walk around with a Nike or Coca-Cola brand logo on your shirt is just fucking heinous. You are paying them for the right to advertise their product. And that just makes one as cheap and tacky as can be.

I'm not really sure what the point of this is. Do explain.

I don't see how naming public parks is a big deal. Neither is advertising anywhere, really.
If people are too stupid to make up their own minds, you've got to wonder how much longer they're going to make it anyways.
It seems to benefit the community to have a local business subsidize some of the cost of the construction.
