Is Lieberman's Political Career Over?

{Link Here}

So Joe Lieberman concedes. He lost the primary, but vows to run as an "Independant Democrat". Why not just run as a Republican? That's what he is! {Read Here} Oh yeah, if he runs as a "third party" then he will split the Democratic vote and hand over a Republican win in Connecticut (possibly). Win-win for ol' Joe. Either way a Republican will have a vote in Connecticut, wether it's him or someone in the Republican party.

With two Democrats running for Sentate, and Lieberman already in the losing bracket ... there is no way he can pull this off. What then, run for President? There is no way he is going to pull that off, not as a Democrat, Republican, or Independant. This man has fucked himself, and out of spite going to fuck over his party and hand his seat over to a Republican.

Hey GC,

From what I'm hearing, the largest block of voters in that state are considered Independent, and many Republicans support Lieberman. What does all this mean? I think we are going to have a big, nasty three-way fight up there. Unfortunately, if Lieberman splits the Dem vote, the Rep vote, and wins a good chunk of the Independent votes, he will most likely win the election.

Hopefully, with rant yesterday about having his web site hacked by his opponent, people will see what a delusional idiot he really is.

...and EW,

Spooky is in rare form on that thread. I just went to check that crap out. Thanks for the notification. That's truly some funny shit.

It 'could' happen...

With any luck, both Whinerman and Shrill Miller will go down in a small plane crash.

Oh, I forgot. That only happens to anti-Bush democrats

On one hand I don't consider J.L a republican. I do consider his opponent to be too far left (IMO)
Isn't this kind of what we've been talking about BND? comming more to the middle on all sides? J.L is right of the "Typical" Democrat and I guess McCain on my side might be Left of the "typical" Republican.
When the extremes of both parties are unwilling to compromise on minor differences you get what we have now. A divided country. NOT GOOD.

blsabob - ?

BW - My biggest problem with Lieberman is this: the majority Democrats in his state do not agree with him. Instead of accepting that, he throws out baseless accusations at his opponent, the media, and us bloggers saying that we monkey-wrenched his campaign.

His opponent did not hack his web page, every candidate has to deal with the same screwed up MSM, and we members of Blogopolis can say whatever the hell we want. The question he should be asking is why were there not more pro-Lieberman blogs out there? or maybe - why aren't there more pro-Lieberman Democrat voters in Connecticut?

Saying that someone hacked your website is pretty weak.

Lieberman doesn't really catch my fancy as an independent. I look for two issues in a candidate:

-Major tax reform (FairTax, or at least support the banishment of the IRS)

-A national energy strategy that makes sense, and doesn't involve federal subsidies for oil companies.

Terrorism MIGHT be in the top-50, but I'd have to think about that. It's slightly less important than flu vaccines.

Spooky1 is the greatest jackass on planet earth.

More reasons why Lieberman doesn't impress me:

-He's pro-censorship
-He has no use for the 2nd Amendment. The NRA gave him a rating of "F".

greencommunist said...

The (main) reason I hate Lieberman is because he supports this bullshit war.

... and it's obviously due to religious and racial reasons. He is a Zionist and is supporting this war only because it's a war on a muslim population.

Fuck that racist prick.

Lefty Metalhead said...

Lieberman lost touch with his constituents. I love his NRA record though! We don't need that shit.

greencommunist said...

Fuck the NRA, for real, or should I say the KKK ... look it up.

BigNewsDay said...

Hey GC, I think that everyone is missing the point about the right to bear arms. Everyone should have that right, but you have to be man enough to cut the arms off of the big hairy mother fuckers yourself.

greencommunist said...

The reason that the right to bear arms exists is to keep the government in check. It is not only our right but our responsibility to take arms against an oppressive regime.

Yet the NRA sides with the oppressive regime. That organization is a crock of shit, they stand for nothing other than keeping the "darkies" at bay. Plain and fucking simple.

Every member of the NRA I have ever met is a racist fucking prick.

BigNewsDay said...

I agree. The NRA is another extremist organization that tries to bully people into submission. Fuck Charlton Heston. What an asshole. I still can't believe that he had the fucking nerve to hold an NRA rally in Colorado right after the Colombine disaster. Then again in Flint after a small child was shot by another small with a gun that was left unprotected.

Lefty Metalhead said...

I'm sure our handguns and shotguns will do just fine against a government that has patriot missiles. End sarcasm.

There goes that argument!

Note: I borrowed this counter-argument from Bill Maher

BlackLabelAxe said...

Yeah, the NRA tends to be like PETA: they stand for a good cause, but as an organization are such assholes that the point gets lost along the way.

Such is the reason why I think PETA is a joke. There's no reason to torture animals, but after all, people>animals.

The Constitution an the Bill of Rights is our first line of defense against the government. The 2nd Amendment is our last, unlikely resort. As unlikely as it may be, we cannot stand for it to be eroded in any manner. Our freedom is at stake if we let our guard down.

I couldn't agree more Axe. All it takes is one radical to F**k up a good cause.
