Why am I not suprised?

Today is Primary Day! If you were under investigation due to your dealings with lobbyist and are running for re-election, how do you spend primary night?

If your name is Tom DeLay, you spend it at a fundraiser thrown by lobbyists. Here are a few lines from a CNN article regarding this issue:

"Entry to the fundraiser costs $1,000, $2,500 and $5,000 for political action committees and $500, $1,000 and $2,100 for individuals, according to an event invitation."

All of which will go to the DeLay's re-election campaign.

Here are some words from one of the Republicans running against him in today's primary:

"I think it's amazingly ironic and callous he would be spending election night with a group of lobbyists," Campbell said. "I don't think he understands how unhappy constituents are with what appears to be a trade of principle for power."

(doesn't that book behind his ear make him look like an elf?)

I sure hope he looses! DeLay and Bush sure are making Texans look foolish.

I cannot think of an American politician more deserving of a South African style necklacing that this evil bag of shit.

I'll bet even his mother refused to touch him as a youngster

I think we should be able to beat Tom DeLay with the enire Phelps Family until nothing is left but a red, chunky puddle!

I wouldn't even let my dog sniff at any of those evil cretins

Yeah, DeLay is probably the most arrogant lawmaker I've ever heard of. It's a shame that he's a co-sponsor of the Fair Tax, because everything that has his name on it now seems like a scam.

Now him and Tom Daschle can get together and write a book about how people don't understand arrogant public servants.

It's about 8:45 and that asshole has 67%, but only like 1% has reported. I guess folks down in the Harris County area don't care much about ethics.

Houston area republicans are obviously buffoons. Indicted in Texas and molt likely soon to be indicted in Washington on his Abramoff connections (Mark March 28 on your calandar kids!) and these fucking yahoos overwhelmingly support him anyway. Personally, I hope he wins and then is convicted, so those idiots wind up with some third rate replacement who won't have the political muscle or experience to represent them worth a shit.

Buh bye Pork!

Ronnie Earle for President!!

Yeah, love that lawbook effect. Now if he'd put a couple of saucers on his eyes he could complete the Alien Bugman look.

Great news from the Hill

Appropriations Committee Chairman assigned DeLay to two subcommittees: Science, State, Justice & Commerce (SSJC) and Homeland Security.

On his returnto the committee. “Tom has always been a strong advocate for fiscal conservatism,” Lewis said. “As majority leader, he was instrumental in bringing our appropriations bills in on time and on budget. As a member of our committee, I know we can count on the same commitment and energy.”

Great news won't come until the fall when DeLay is defeated in his reelection bid, or maybe when he gets locked up here in Texas.

I think Mr. DeLay will make a nice bitch for some deserving young man in our wonderful prison system.

Perhaps he and Abramson can bunk together in Levenworth and don nightly reenactments of their favorite scenes from Brokeback Mountain
